The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is a 1,386 km long, 8-lane wide (expandable to 12-lane) under-construction access-controlled expressway connecting India's national capital New Delhi with its financial capital Mumbai. Foundation stone of the project was laid by union minister Nitin Gadkari in presence of Sushma Swaraj & Arun Jaitley on 8 March 2019.
India’s infrastructure development has taken a big leap forward with the inauguration of the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This highly anticipated project has the potential to shake up the real estate market in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) in many ways. The expressway will reduce the travel distance between the two cities of Delhi and Mumbai by 12 percent, from 1,424 km to 1,242 km, making it easier for people to commute between the two metros. This improved connectivity will make the Delhi NCR region more accessible to a wider demographic, increasing the demand for real estate in the region.
The development of expressways leads to the creation of new commercial hubs and residential areas, which can make them more attractive to investors and homebuyers. Properties located around expressways are often seen as prestigious and desirable because of the limited land available in strategic locations near the expressways. The limited supply is likely to push up property prices in these locations. This offers an opportunity to home buyers and investors to buy properties in these areas and benefit from their potential for capital appreciation.Delhi Mumbai Expressway will increase the demand for both residential and commercial properties in the surrounding area. It will open up job opportunities and tourism avenues besides attracting.
The 160 km Sohna-Dausa stretch will travel through the districts of Gurugram, Palwal, and Nuh in Haryana. It will include 47 villages in the Nuh district in addition to 11 villages in the Gurugram district and 7 villages in Palwal.
The entire road is under CCTV surveillance, and speed detection boards have been put up every 20 km to warn drivers when their cars are travelling too fast.
The Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section's first toll plaza has been constructed close to Nuh in Haryana. The FASTag for the vehicle will be scanned here.
The 246-kilometre route between the capital city and Jaipur will reduce travel time by two hours.
Conclusion
Overall, the opening of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is an important milestone for India and is anticipated to have a big impact on the local real estate market. The motorway is anticipated to give the economy a much-needed boost, create jobs, and simplify travel between Delhi and Mumbai for both individuals and businesses. The highway demonstrates how hard the Indian government is working to upgrade the country's infrastructure and give its citizens a higher standard of living.
